NEWS24 June 2006 ? GARDENS ON BBC2 SPECIALOur President, Ann Bird, spent a blissfully sunny Friday afternoon showing Rachel de Thame of the BBC around the new Gardens of The Rose. Rachel grew up near-by and often visited the gardens as a child with her parents and has fond memories of them as they used to be, often explaining to Ann that she remembered this here and that there. However, she was thrilled to see the new layout and agreed that they are superbly designed and will be stunning in years to come. Certainly good to hear such an endorsement from such a dedicated rose lover! The hour long special, which takes in many aspects of the rose including our gardens, is to be shown on BBC2, on Friday 4th August at 8pm. If you haven't managed to get to see the new gardens yet....this is your chance! It certainly will be a programme on roses in their entirety NOT TO BE MISSED!
